Juan-Francisco (Paco) Reyes

I develop NLP models using LLMs to enhance communication between humans and computers. My experience spans across international multidisciplinary research and industry projects. I focus on the explainability of NLP models through explainable AI (XAI) methods at the linguistic level, specializing in computational linguistics and information extraction.

I am about to get a PhD degree in Computer Science at Brandenburgische Technische Universität (BTU) with the thesis Explaining Large Language Models for Passage-Level Political Statement Extraction Using Linguistic Rule-Based Models, in which I used AI explainability (XAI) methods to study how LLMs understand linguistic structures (features) to make predictions. Along the process, I built a web crawler, web annotation tools, NLP models and datasets, and a seminar in NLP and Information Extraction that I lectured for four years at BTU.

Take a look at my CV to know about my strong background in computational linguistics, natural language processing, human-computer interaction, and web development.
